The EuroVoice European Music Contest (EuroVoice) is an annual, interactive, televised music contest, with participants from countries all over Europe. The President of EuroVoice is Eric Serra - the producer and composer who scored the soundtracks to the films Leon, Nikita, Joan of Arc, and The Fifth Element.
The territory of the EuroVoice Contest covers all countries within the geographical boundaries of Europe as well as Turkey and Israel.
The official Contest Portal (www.eurovoice.tv) is unique in that it ensures transparency of the voting and that the results cannot be manipulated. Information about the Contest, the entry songs and artists and the online voting results can also be found on the Portal.
Anyone who has reached the age of majority and who has the Nationality of a country within the Contest territory can enter EuroVoice.
The Contestant must be free from any obligations towards record companies (he/she must not have an existing recording contract) in his professional capacity as a performer, as the Contestants who qualify for the finals but also the Winner of the Final may be, at the discretion of the Contest Owner, required to sign a recording contract with the Contest Owner, or the third party that the Contest Owner chooses and indicates.
Requirements to the song
Duration of the song that is intended to be heard at the EuroVoice Contest must be up to 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
The Contestant must be the sole composer or songwriter of the song submitted. If the Contestant is not the (sole) Composer, then the Composer(s)/Songwriter(s) of the song (all the people who collectively own 100% of the rights for the song) must also sign the Contestant Agreement for an entry to be validly submitted. The song has to be free from any claims by third parties.
It is allowed for the song to have been publicly performed, broadcast or published on the internet or any other means of publication before the Contestant submits it, but it is forbidden for the song to have been commercially released in any form, by any performer, in the past or at present.
The entry song must be in MP3 format in order to be uploaded to the Contest Portal.
During the Contest show the entry song must be performed half playback, namely with full live vocals and full playback orchestra (provided by the Contestant) with no pre-recorded backing vocals on the backing track. There is no restriction in language in which the song is sung.
To enter a song in EuroVoice 2010, contestants need to:
1. register (no charge, mandatory);
2. upload 3-4 photos (no charge, mandatory);
3. provide some profile information about the act (no charge, mandatory);
4. upload an entry song (no charge, mandatory);
5. upload a video of a performance of the entry song;
6. provide detailed information about the composer(s) and lyricist(s) of the entry song and, if they are different persons from the contestant, to make sure that they also sign the Contestant Agreement (mandatory).
Contestants who fail to comply with all the mandatory requirements as well as the Contest Agreement, Rules and Regulations will be disqualified and the Contest Owner has the right to remove their song(s) from the portal at any stage of the Competition.
The EuroVoice 2010 Contest will take place in 2 stages:
1. The Internet Stage: free voting on the Contest Portal eurovoice.tv will determine which act from every Country goes through to the Super Final.
2. The Super Final: SMS voting and paid voting on the Contest Portal eurovoice.tv will determine the winner of EuroVoice 2010.
Registration for the Internet Stage opens on April 14, 2010. Only the results of the public vote can decide the winner of the EuroVoice Contest.
The voting takes place in two stages:
1. The Internet Stage - free voting on the Contest Portal eurovoice.tv
2. The Super Final - SMS voting and paid voting on the Contest Portal eurovoice.tv
Voting for the Internet Stage opens on May 12, 2010.
During the Internet Stage 14.04 - 25.05.2010 and starting on May 12, you can cast a vote for your favourite entry song by going to the Contest Portal eurovoice.tv. Voting for the Internet Stage closes on May 25, 2010. The Contestant from each Country who receives the most votes during the Internet Stage will go through to the Contest Super Final, representing his/her country.
Voting during 12.05- 25.05 is conducted by internet voting. One vote is equal to one (1) point. It is possible to vote both "Pro" and "Contra" the participant. The number of the gained points is defined as the difference between "Pro" and "Contra" votes. The results of the voting are published on the official web-portal of the Contest. Every person is allowed to vote maximum of three (3) times for participants from one (1) mobile phone number during a time period that starts at 00:00 of a certain day and ends at 23:59 of the same day.
The list of the Super Finalists will be published on May 26, 2010.
The expenses (travel cost, accommodation in Athens, food and drink, local transport) of the Super Finalists will be covered by the National Partners and/or in some cases the Organising Committee
The Super Final will take place on June 25th and 26th in the OAKA (Athens, Greece). When it comes to the Super Final, you can cast your vote during the special guest performance by SMS or by going to the Contest Portal eurovoice.tv.
The Super Finalist getting the most votes becomes the winner of the EuroVoice© 2010 Contest and receives 100 000 Euro and a recording contract with a major multinational record label, which be indicated by the Contest Owner.
The prize fund for fans makes up 50 000 Euros.
