Vlatka was born in the City of Zagreb, Croatia. She took her first singing lessons with Prof. Mladen Katanić, and studied under him for five years.
In 1999 she won the "Kor" award as the best young artist in Croatia. In June 2000 she enrolled to study solo singing at the prestigious University for Musical and Stage Art in Vienna (Austria), in the class of Prof. Franz Donner.
