About

Vlatka was bornin the City of Zagreb, Croatia. She took her first singing lessons with Prof. Mladen Katanić, and studied under him for five years. In 1999 she won the "Kor" award as the best young artist in Croatia. In June 2000 she enrolled to study solo singing at the prestigious University for Musical and Acting Art in Vienna (Austria), in the class of Prof. Franz Donner. She continued with post-graduate studies in opera and dramatic art in the class of Prof. Margit Klaushofer and gained the title of M.A. on January 31, 2006. In the meantime she transferred form soprano to mezzo soprano. She has performed all over the world (Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, China...) and she is a frequent guest on Croatian radio and television. At the F. Tagliavini international competition for young opera singers, held in Austria in 2002, she achieved significant success. Her debut in the Croatian theatre was in 2004 as "Janica" in the folk musical "Janica and Jean", by R. Škiljan and S. Leopold. Since 2005 she performed in various operettas and operas (in the Vienna Volksopera, Schloss Theater Schönbrunn and City Theatre Komedija in Zagreb). Over the past few years she has worked with several famous composers and conductors in Austria and Croatia: B. Šipuš, V. Šutej, M. Piolet, L. Hager, M. Tomaschek, U. Lajovic. In February 2006 she became a member of the City Theatre Komedija in Zagreb. She is a member of the Croatian Society of Composers and the Croatian Musical Union. Alongside her classical repertoire, she also performs modern compositions, musicals and evergreen popular songs. This Year she is recording a new album in Germany. It will be interesting combination of classical and electronic music (crossover).
